Candidate Statement
I joined Mosier City Council in early 2024. In almost three years on Council, I’ve done my best to listen, learn, and represent the community of Mosier.
Now I’m asking for a mandate to become your next Mayor. My intention is simple: to continue the city’s current work with the same spirit of respect, integrity, and discipline that Mayor Anderson has led with over his last three terms.
I’ve lived in Mosier most of my life and it holds a unique place in my heart. I believe in the preservation of Mosier’s character. Mosier will naturally continue to grow and change, but its character can stay the same. I want to foster a sustainable cultivation of Mosier’s growth
Mosier has three major problems I will focus on addressing in my term:
First, budget modernization. I will work closely with the city manager to improve the health of our city’s small budget with an aim toward increasing the balance of our general fund.
Secondly, I intend to solidify our water and sewer infrastructure. My main focus will be new generator purchases for existing wells and continuity of service to those in the city.
Thirdly, I will focus on Mosier’s existential threat from wildfire. The Wasco County Hazard Mitigation Plan highlights Mosier as the city under the most risk of wildfire danger. I am currently working on methods for increasing our preparedness for wildfire, because the question is not if, but when.
With your continued support, I will continue to carry this work forward with the same values I have been guided by these past years.
I’d be honored to earn your continued trust and support as Mosier’s next Mayor.
And, I would be privileged to receive your vote.
