Candidate Statement
My name is Carrie Davis. I am honored to be your candidate for Mosier City Council Position #1. And I’m not a politician. I am currently a board member and secretary of Main Street Mosier and a SMART Reading volunteer at Mosier Community School. And I’m very invested in helping make life in Mosier the best it can be for all of us living here.
I’m a born and raised Oregonian and a full-time Mosier resident since 2022. I know I’m lucky to live here. I love our small town community and wide open landscapes. And I love figuring out how systems and teams – including communities like Mosier – work, don’t work and can work better.
I am recently retired with over 40 years in sports-related work. I see life as a team sport. My career started in sports journalism, which was heavy on communication, details and deadlines. That led to 35+ years and many roles in the sportswear industry. Starting in testing products on athletes, I learned to ask the right questions and really listen. From there, I worked in product, materials and manufacturing innovation, and finished in manufacturing engineering. I managed highly-technical projects with large teams across the world and even larger budgets. I developed strong project management and teamwork skills and learned how to balance dreams with what can actually get done. My problem-solving approach is listen, learn, act – and don’t take longer than necessary.
If elected, my priorities will be to listen to what would make living in Mosier better for you, learn what can be done to make it happen, and then get to work. Thank you for your consideration – I look forward to working with you to make Mosier work better for all of us!
