The City would like to inform the public of upcoming construction activity at the Rock Creek Railroad Bridge over the park access road.
Beginning as early as Wednesday, April 29, 2026, contractors will be driving piles necessary for the new bridge installation. This work is expected to continue through Friday, with all pile driving anticipated to be completed by close of business.
Traffic control measures, including flaggers, will be in place to maintain access to the park area. While the access road is not expected to fully close, traffic will be temporarily paused during active pile driving operations occurring adjacent to the roadway.
Key details:
- Four piles near the park access road will directly impact traffic flow
- Each pile is expected to take approximately 30 minutes to complete
- Temporary traffic holds will occur only during active pile driving
- Four additional piles on the west side of the bridge will not affect park access
- Work hours are currently scheduled from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with possible minor extensions if necessary
The City and contractors will work to minimize disruptions and accommodate through traffic as much as possible.
We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this important infrastructure improvement project.
